Breakfast Eye Candy by Cassandre Dayne
Publisher: Rebel Ink Press
Genre: BDSM, Erotic Contemporary Romance
Length:62 pages

Summary:

Jessica Brown has to save her failing company, Dreams for Your Future Advertising, and she only has one shot to take to get the job done. Delicious Foods has tapped Jessica’s small company for a campaign for the hottest selling condiment in America, Peach Bliss. The trouble? Jessica hates the sticky mess and has no slogan. In fact, she could care less about the whole campaign.

Eric Gammon looks more like a sculpted God and less like the maintenance guy at Jessica’s building, which means he’s drop gorgeous but totally off limits. Isn’t he?

Forgetting all rational thought, Jessica garners a wicked idea. She propositions Eric and he gladly agrees to let her experiment with him and find out first hand exactly what the dazzling syrup, this Peach Bliss, can be used for. Re-energized and hopeful, Jessica tackles the Delicious Foods account with flair and everything goes smoothly until Jessica learns that Eric’s ex, Stella, is none other than a top executive at Delicious Foods.

Undaunted, Jessica is more than ready to deliver her presentation, which involves an overheated room, some melting ice cream and a bit of the bubbly. That is until she realizes Eric lied to her and is going back to Stella.

Now that Jessica’s won the contract, has she lost the love of her life?

Naunet’s Review:

Most adults know about the importance of starting each day with a healthy meal… breakfast. Hmm, Breakfast Eye Candy by Cassandre Dayne is hot, juicy and you have no idea how happy and healthy I felt after having this savory morsel to kick off a week-end.

Ms. Dayne uses intelligent, mind nourishing vocabulary to describe each erotically, scintillating scenario. Her writing style is captivating and will not disappoint as she ensures the reader will not miss one luscious experience awaiting two intimacy famished people. The settings and other story elements are presented in a manner that was uncomplicated. I found Breakfast Eye Candy an electrifying charge of all of my sensory neurons as I devoured this scrumptious read. Ms. Dayne’s characters are realistic and the situations totally believable. In addition, Cassandra Dayne’s secondary characters play a key role in the development of the plot and the conclusion.

Jessica Brown is a bodacious, voluptuous, professional woman, and the proprietor of an advertising agency. Jessica is the key female character and the nexus of this engaging sexy tale. She’s an adventurous woman determined to be successful and must land this extremely important account. Moreover, she’s been struggling to create an advertising campaign for a product she finds unappealing.

The personality of Jessica Brown is easy to relate to because she is so driven, independent and caring. She carries herself in a confident manner commanding respect from all she interacts with both personally and professionally. Although success is a paramount characteristic, she is not a shallow person. Ms. Dayne utilizes women characters who are powerful, intelligent and in charge.

Another factor in Breakfast Eye Candy, which I appreciate is the manner in which the author writhe her pen to tap into every woman’s hidden wild side that can be intimidating for some men. Ms Dayne unlocks the reserved fantasies I possess and reluctantly admit to. In Breakfast Eye Candy the forbidden hungry fantasies of a lifetime may be realized for both Jessica and Eric perhaps one enchanted morning.

Eric Gammon is the “breakfast eye candy” readers will succumb to for an awesome first meal of the day. He is a walking feast; in my honest opinion. Eric is a young man on a mission with intentions that will catapult him to the top as his goals manifest. Surrendering to Mr. Gammon and anything he wants to serve me is without a doubt carnally delectable. Eric brings to this erotic table, rich, dark, smooth, and exotic semi-sweet chocolate. The flavor that holds on long lasting aftertaste so delectably nourishing. Eric is tall, well-endowed with chiseled bodily features, melt in your mouth magic stick, hypnotic eyes, and a deep baritone voice that can cause knees to buckle…consider him as the nucleus awaiting a chemical interaction.

Jessica and Eric have gazed upon one another for awhile harboring desires and wondering if they ever become acquainted would the elements that fuel their wild fantasies ignite and unite them. According to their sexual appetites and cravings, if they come together it will be an electrifying, combustible event that neither will walk away unscathed.

In Breakfast Eye Candy, Ms. Dayne’s depictions of Jessica and Eric’s highly erotic fantasies generates hot sweaty bodies, entanglements in soaking wet sheets and plenty of self gratifications. My cage rattled and I mischievously contemplated grabbing my man from the much needed yard work in order to ravage him. :-}

Breakfast Eye Candy is a book that is easy to read and totally distracting. You will ignore people and duties as your curiosity yearns to see if Jessica’s and Eric’s sexual desires come to fruition. Ms. Dayne’s book will make you think about reaching nirvana before your day is done. I know I experienced an epiphany.

Homophobic discrimination is a serious issue in every single country on this planet, no matter how big or small. Some countries are more advanced in GLBTQ rights, while in some countries the penalty for being a GLBTQ person is death. All over the world, GLBTQ people are shunned by society, beat up, tortured, raped, and stripped of human rights in various ways. What makes people believe that they have the right to strip someone of their human rights is beyond us.

The Hop Against Homophobia is an attempt by over 250 m/m authors, reviewers and publishers to stand together and create awareness of homophobia. Each participating blog will feature a message on homophobic discrimination in its various forms. The date, May 17th, was chosen in honor of the International Day Against Homophobia and we’re hoping to get people more involved with this day by inviting them to our blogs, where the visitors have a chance to win prizes.

To the side of this blog are links to various organizations and foundations that fights homophobic discrimination. We encourage you to visit these sites and see what they’re all about. Also, if you have more links you’d like to see on that list, please do share :)

So please, stop by the blogs, read the messages and leave comments :) Please also stay tuned for our after-hop message next week.

Sydney’s Message:

I enjoy reading M/M books and I don’t apologize for it. The relationships are sensual, loving, and warm my heart. Personally, I was brought up to treat people for who they are, not for who I wanted them to be, their sexual perference, or the color of their skin. People have been discriminating for centuries and the question that always comes to mind is “Who made them God?” Think about it… If we were all created equal, then how did different socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, and sexuality become such big issues. The ironic part is that m/m relationships have been existing for centuries. It dates back farther than the Roman and Greek empires, so once again, what’s the big deal with two men or women loving one another.

Prude often comes to mind, except that a prude would rarely harm someone for their sexual preference. In regards to homophobia, this is one of those times where ignorance IS NOT BLISS. We need to stand up for our right to love whomever our heart desires. Since the day we were born there has always been someone telling us what to do, are we going to let those same people tell us who and who not to love? For me, I don’t think so. Love is precious whether it’s between a man and a woman, two men, or two women. Their hearts beat the same and they all have feelings. Why does our society have such a problem when people go against the norm and express their own personality and wants? Who are we to say that you as a man can’t love another man? It’s ridiculous and we need to stand up to these bullies.  Moreover, we need to stand up and be heard.

Stop Hating and Start Loving…

Krewe Daddy by Margie Church
Publisher: Noble Romance Publishing
Genre: GLBT, M/M, Contemporary, Erotic Romance
Length: 217 pages

Summary:

Drew’s insecurities pushed him to have a foolish affair six years ago. It destroyed his relationship with Luis, and he’s never been able to commit to anyone since. Now, he’s taken control of his life and changed his submissive personality by becoming a model for Kevin Marks, and a wildlife enforcement agent in New Orleans.

These men haven’t forgotten each other, or settled their differences. When they accidentally meet in a French Quarter gay bar, the years of regret, anger, and pent-up emotions erupt. Their passion is as hot as ever, their mistrust just as potent. When Drew’s future is in Luis’ hands, will he choose his lifestyle or love?

Featuring Kevin, Teak, and Drew from Hard as Teak.

Jaymes’ Review:

I haven’t read Hard as Teak, yet, but I have to say Krewe Daddy by Margie Church was fabulous. I didn’t think it was necessary to read Hard as Teak first because you get a lot of great information about Drew and Luis and their past within Krewe Daddy. But I will be going back to read the first book.

Drew has been dealing with the results of an affair and subsequent breakup of his relationship with Luis from the moment he left Luis. He’s finally at a place where he knows that he needs to put the past to rest in order to be able to move on. Running into Luis and finding out his ex has been living in the same city is mind-blowing for Drew. He knows that he needs to talk to Luis, but is a little afraid of opening himself up that way again.

Luis is just as surprised to run into Drew. Both of them are edgy, but know things aren’t finished between them. Passion reignites and sends them off on a new path to see if they can make it as a couple. Then something happens that could end their new life together just as it gets started. Luis and Drew are put in a place where life and love tenuously straddle the fence.

Ms. Church combines all of the ups, downs, mistakes, and life-altering events to give us a wonderful couple you will want to see succeed. Both men have flaws and it takes almost losing the most important piece of their relationship – each other – to finally bring them together. Krewe Daddy is a great story. I liked it – a lot.

The Submission Challenge by Jennifer Denys
Series: Doms and Acquaintances, Book 1
Publisher: Siren Bookstrand, Inc.
Genre: BDSM, Contemporary, Erotic Romance
Length: 23,129 words

Summary:

[Siren Classic: Erotic Consensual BDSM Romance, bondage, whipping, sex toys]

When independent Rebecca derides her best friend’s brother for being a Dominant, he scoffs. She could never understand the lifestyle, but Jon challenges her to be his submissive for twenty-four hours anyway, demanding all that being a submissive entails. Not one to back down from a challenge, Rebecca agrees, determined to show him she can be submissive yet remain emotionally detached.

During the challenge, Jon works all his Dom tricks to try to make her lose, including insisting she be naked constantly, touching her intimately, and using various BDSM techniques, like bondage.

Some tricks Rebecca finds harder to accept than others, but as the weekend continues, they realize they are attracted to each other. But just as Rebecca comes to enjoy giving control to someone else, Jon learns to enjoy having someone who doesn’t submit easily. But things aren’t that simple.

A Siren Erotic Romance

Mar’s Review:

A woman who just knows she would never enjoy BDSM and a man who thinks he is Dom enough to show her she is wrong. Rebecca has known Jon, the brother of her best friend, for years. Running into him at a club, gives her the chance to let him know that no way would she enjoy his lifestyle. Sounds like the perfect challenge.

The Submission Challenge by Jennifer Denys was an interesting read that unfortunately left me wanting it to be a little more in depth into the character’s minds. Jon is an easygoing fellow who enjoys dominating a woman in the bedroom, but we don’t really get to understand his character’s makeup and what drives him. On the other hand, we get to really understand what makes Rebecca tick.

I enjoyed their bonding during the last few hours of their challenge, but felt that the characters’ hadn’t been developed well enough to make the teasing and ultimate ending of their time together warranted or heartfelt. The Submission Challenge is an enjoyable read that I personally wanted to give me more because of the interesting heroine I encountered.

Over the last year and a half Kael and Angel have settled into a loving Dom/sub relationship. But no matter how comfortable the highly intelligent and ruthless assassin and his sweet, eager, loving boy become with each other, Kael is still the boss and Angel wants him to remain so, whether in the dungeon, the bedroom, or the kitchen. Naturally submissive, Angel has learned how to be a good Daddy’s boy and a good slave, but his childlike willfulness still makes itself known now and again.

When Angel is kidnapped by an enemy of Kael’s, he’ll stop at nothing to save his boy, but his boy may have to take what he’s learned and help him.

Publisher’s Note: This book contains explicit sexual situations, graphic language, and material that some readers may find objectionable: BDSM theme and elements (including flogging), male/male sexual practices, violence.

Speedy’s Review:

Angel and the Assassin: Sins of the Father is the third installment of the Angel and the Assassin series. Author Fyn Alexander takes the reader on a journey following Kael Saunders, a cold-hearted military operative in England and his loving and devoted sub, Angel. Whereas the first two books in the series were action packed and filled with suspense and thrill, this book delved more deeply into the emotional development and growth of both characters.

Remaining true to the Dom/sub relationship established in the first two stories, Kael remains Angel’s Daddy and the sex between the two is hot, evocative, and explicitly portrayed through visceral imagery. Where the story diverges from the first two is that the pace of the action is slower and the focus remains more staunchly focused on the characters and how their feelings evolve from what they once had been to what they become by the end of the story. Rather than a line drawn in the sand between the Dom and sub, Kael and Angel’s relationship has matured and the two are learning each other, Kael softening and becoming more human and Angel learning to assert himself.

The basic plot, aside from the internal struggles of the main protagonists, is Kael’s assignment to protect the imminent Russian president, Arkadiy Romodanovsky. When one of Kael operatives comments on the similarities between him and the large Russian, it triggers questions he’d been asking himself for a lifetime…who is his real father? While the interactions between Kael and Romodanovsky are interesting, it isn’t what drives the emotion of the story. Fyn Alexander has managed to maintain a tight focus on Kael and Angel despite the events occurring around them and the cast of characters living their lives on the page.

There were two issues which prevented me from giving this book a rating of 5 stars. The first was an instance which occurred toward the end of the story where Kael revealed an unappealing side to his personality. While there were many relatable flaws within Kael which made him likable and human, this particular incident didn’t seem to fit who I have come to believe Kael is as a person. Second, the story didn’t wrap up this particular romance with a neat and tidy bow. While the story definitely has a satisfying conclusion, the ending leaves me wondering whether a fourth book is in the works.

Splendid Captivity by Brita Addams
Publisher: Silver Publishing
Genre: BDSM, Gay, Historical, Erotic Romance, Menage, Regency, M/M/F
Length: 189 pages

Summary:

Isabella Malin, a widow, wants to escape her dull life of embroidery and teas. She hires a hackney and goes in search of the Falcon, the notorious highwayman. A little kiss, a bit of a thrill, and she’s sure she can once again face whatever her dull life has to offer. When her carriage is stopped and she is kidnapped, she goes without a fuss, never dreaming she wouldn’t be allowed to leave.

Julian Madere and his bisexual partner, Nate Thurber, both poor sons of nobility, take to the highway, stealing from the rich and making love to each other to celebrate their bounty. Julian and Nate decide Isabella must be held captive, lest she reveal their nefarious activities as well as their need for each other, both hanging offenses in 1820 England. The three enjoy glorious sexual romps, until the law gets a bit too close to the truth, threatening their developing closeness. While Julian has his eyes on a future with both Nate and Isabella, it seems fate may have other ideas.

Mar’s Review:

I was captivated by the opening scene of Splendid Captivity, a historical menage by Brita Adams. The reader is treated to a wonderful introduction of the steamy writing of this talented author. The historical time of the story is realistic along with society’s acceptances of what was right and what was simply immoral.

Julian, our hero, is a complex, interesting man who lives outside of society’s mores. His character is brought to life through a wonderfully crafted story of two male lovers surviving because no one knows they enjoy each other. Bringing in some spice with Isabella, the three of them embark on a journey to finding true love.

Ms. Adams did a wonderful job of telling Nate’s frustration Nate with having to share his love while delving into the thick, deep mind of Julian and learning to see what makes him tick. Isabella, at times, was disappointing to today’s woman, but perfect for the time of history she was set in.

If you are looking for a walk on the wild side, look no further than Splendid Captivity. You will enjoy your stroll through history with a smile.
